Entertainment

With a live Oompah band, an outrageous drag artist as MC and thrilling funfair rides, we have something for everyone. Let the party begin!

The entertainment will begin at 7.30pm at evening sessions and 1.30pm at afternoon sessions.

New York Oompah  Brass Band

Hailing from the ancient streets of York, the hugely popular New York Brass Band will step into the Lederhosen and Dirndls, take on a new persona as the New York OOMPAH Brass Band, and add some thigh-slapping, foot-stomping Oktoberfest tunes to their repertoire.

Among them will be the traditional drinking song 'Ein Prosit' (see right). After the band plays this song, raise your glass and say: “Oans, zwoa, drei, Gsuffa!” meaning “one, two, three, drink!”. You must sing this song, and drink after each song, so start practising!

Regular performers at Glastonbury, the New York Brass Band wow the crowds with their feel-good disco classics, from Diana Ross to Daft Punk, with plenty of Earth, Wind & Fire thrown in.

The band is a powerful team of some of Yorkshire’s finest musicians packing an arsenal of percussion, sax, trumpets, trombones and sousaphone, with over 60 tunes at their fingertips and without a note of music in sight.

Dancing is encouraged at Yorktoberfest, as it has been for over 200 years of Oktoberfests - these guys are sure to keep you on your feet and bring you a truly interactive experience!

Vintage Funfair

Funfairs are an integral part of German Oktoberfests and Yorktoberfest will have its very own traditional funfair with a stunning collection of vintage rides.

The 1936 Speedway may be vintage but the speed will still make your hair stand up! Jump on a motorbike or snuggle up in a chariot for an exhilarating ride!

Race round the Brooklands track on our 1937 Dodgems. It might be a bumpy ride but you’ll have loads of laughs!

Or you can twist and shout on the 1960s Twister. Best to eat AFTER this ride!

Tokens for the funfair rides can be purchased at our box office or at the bar.
Drink responsibly – Challenge 25 policy will be in operation.
